Make A Day Of Moving
Everybody loves a party, which is why if embarking on house relocation; you should throw what is now called a moving house party! It’s very simple. Save money you would otherwise have spent on hiring a professional removal company and instead use it to treat your friends to a housewarming bash… after they’ve helped you with moving furniture that is. Yes, the party is conditional… the only guests invited are those friends and family members who help you complete your moving checklist, which includes packing, furniture loading, etc. It also means you’ll have fun while moving house and alleviate the usual stress that comes with moving and storage! There are a number of ways you can throw a moving-day bash! Once you’ve completed your checklist you should also have your budget sorted. Refer to your inventory and see if you can actually afford to hire the full services of a moving company, which will entail packing services and the arrival of handy movers with a truck to carry out furniture removals. If you’re on a rather tight budget, then a moving party will solve the issue! Just invest in some good packing boxes and materials and get your friends and family to save the date in the calendar! Invite them over early in the morning and if possible get most of the packing done yourself. Once your guest movers arrive assign them all different tasks. Put a team in the kitchen to pack up all your items and get the stronger ones to deal with wrapping and dismantling your furniture. Make sure you’ve got plenty of liquids at hand, because moving can be quite dehydrating. You can also order pizzas in for lunch and take a short break, have a seat on the packing boxes and replenish energy levels! If however you have chosen the route of hiring a professional removal company, this doesn’t mean you have to forego your party! It just means your guests can go straight to your new home once the movers have gone! They can then help you with positioning all your furniture in the right place, making up the beds and stowing away any kitchen utensils. It’s probably wise to invest in some paper plates and plastic cups, so you won’t have a pile of washing up to add to your unpacking list! Make sure the professionals take care of the heavy lifting, as you don’t want the party going sour if a friend injures himself or herself trying to raise a heavy sofa! Also assign some friends the task of stockpiling the bathroom. They can fold up and put your towels away and even perhaps give the bathroom a good clean! It’s probably advisable to draw a floor plan of the new place and hand out a copy to all your guests, so they know exactly what needs to go where. After all it’s your home and you’ll want all your belongings in the place you’ve chosen!Having a moving day party will not only lessen the stress of relocating, but it will halve the time needed to get unpacked and settled into your new home. And what better way than to christen your arrival amongst close friends and family? Once all the unpacking is completed you can all relax and sit comfortably in the living room. Make sure to unpack your stereo, as a party isn’t a party without some ambient music! If the weather is fine and you’ve got a garden then why not move the party outside?
